SYNOPSIS:

Jordan Dorrington is one of the best arcade video game players in the world. He holds multiple world records in the classic arcade game, Galaga (1981). Now eager to conquer Donkey Kong (1981), the film follows as he pursues his obscure obsession.

PRODUCTION:

With a 14 year background in professional stand-up comedy, previous employment as a talent agent for UD Factory in Las Vegas, and prior experience as a camera operator for the NHL's Las Vegas Golden Knights and the WNBA's Las Vegas Aces, Tom Garland’s knowledge of the entertainment business is vast for a first-time feature director. A native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, he prides himself on his relentless Midwest work ethic and budget-conscious approach. The film was shot at real vintage arcades in Iowa and Arkansas. Garland began shooting footage in August 2022 and the film was released in October 2023.

FILM RELEASE:

"Arcade Gamer: The True Story" made it's streaming debut to rent/buy on Amazon in October 2023. In November 2023, the film made a regional television debut on Eastern Iowa's FOX TV (KFXA). In January 2024, it began streaming on Tubi. Then in February 2024, it was picked up for streaming on Fawesome.
